Dear Friend,
With just one week to go until the National Citizen Leadership Conference 2022, we’re excited you’ll be joining us for this energizing event with dozens of speakers and hundreds of citizen leaders from across the country. My name is Jacob Brown, and I will be the registration manager at NCLC 2022. When you arrive, look for me and the big American Promise registration table outside of the East Ballroom. But before you hit the road for NCLC, here are a few things to help plan your trip:
NCLC Dates: The Conference takes place at the Mayflower Hotel in DC. Early bird check-in begins on the evening of Tuesday, September 27th from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Registration and check-in resumes September 28th at 7:30 am up to 5:15 pm. We will have a full day of speakers, breakouts and networking events. Finally, for those participating, our Citizen Lobby Day on Capitol Hill will take place Thursday, September 29th, from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
NCLC Schedule: You can find the full Conference schedule on the NCLC Website. Feel free to also text ‘program’ to 96-812 for a link to the program as well. Look for a message from us in the next few days as we will be sending periodic updates about the program throughout the conference from this number!
Conference Location Info: The Mayflower Hotel, 1127 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20036. Hotel phone: (202) 347-3000.
Volunteers: Help us at NCLC and get involved in the action! Volunteers help make NCLC happen and also provide you with the opportunity to work and interact with citizen leaders from around the country and conference speakers. Many of you have generously offered to help and someone from our team will be reaching out with instructions in the next few days. Our highest priority roles are Registration Table and Conference Store. Thank you!
Meals: Your NCLC registration includes breakfast, lunch and dinner on Wednesday the 28th, breakfast and coffee to fuel up before Lobby Day on the 29th, and a lunch buffet on Capitol Hill. Thank you for providing any dietary restrictions upon registration. When you receive your name tag, we will confirm any dietary restrictions and provide you with a handy color-coded index card to indicate your preferences for meals. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions at jacobb@americanpromise.net.
Dress: Business casual. If you are attending Thursday’s Citizen Lobby Day, bring comfortable shoes as there is certain to be lots of walking on Capitol Hill.
Social media: Please use the hashtag #NCLC2022 at the event to boost our mission in your networks! Feel free to record videos or share your thoughts online and tag us @USApromise on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.
Citizen Lobby Day: If you have signed up for Lobby Day click here to update your record. And here is a link to the full Lobby Day schedule, action alerts, and contact information for AP staff leads. When you’re not in meetings our general “headquarters” will be in the Lutheran Church of the Reformation, 212 East Capitol St NE (steps from the Capitol).
We are so excited to welcome you to NCLC 2022. Having citizens just like you at NCLC is a key part of how we will win our amendment and secure the future of our democracy.
I’ll see you there!
Jacob Brown
